So lucky - I have had both. I have just come back from a week in Nelson spending time with my daughter and her family and going for a girls' weekend in Blenheim for the Garden Festival.
The gardens were just beautiful. We saw four gardens on Saturday morning around Spring Creek, all fabulous and not enough time. This one was particularly beautiful, it had a French theme and reflected the gardens of Monet.
And I just love the beach in Nelson, Tahunanui.
Now I am home I am feeling inspired to finish some of the work I have hanging about in my studio. At least it can hang about in a finished state.
This piece has been "hanging about" for a very long time, probably 12 months and now I am determined to finish it. It is quite big , about 2 meters long, it is half stitched so that is a good thing.
I have also sorted some fabric pieces into projects, ready and waiting. Three projects for after the black and white pieces.
This is the fabric for two of the projects. Some hand dyed and some solids. I am excited to think about these and to get started.
I always have great difficulty keeping track of my projects and what to do next. And not getting sidetracked by my friend Sally Saboteur. Initially I thought I could have two or three projects happening at once but now I am not so sure. I think I might be a one project at a time sort of a girl. Hopefully by having them organised and making use of my sketchbook/journal I will be able to limit the projects and know what I am doing. How do you organise your work? Do you have a system?
